There is a system in place...
Where most people in envy, slave away 30 years to achieve the American Dream, fooled by the illusion that this is the most valuable asset they can invest in.
They are wrong.
The most valuable asset is time. Those in control have fooled the masses into believing that a home is worth 30 years of working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. But if you follow this system, 15 years of it will be devoted entirely to interest. And if you look at the resources put into the actual construction of the home, you will realize that the material cost of the asset is not even a very large portion of the bill. Sadly, if you are a construction worker, you will realize that you aren't the one receiving a generous compensation for your time.
Before you sign the dotted line to buy that investment in your slavery, ask yourself this: What can I do with 4 more hours a day for 30 years? What if you can learn how to build it yourself within a year, for less than a 10th of the cost? Or what if you participated with a group to achieve the same goal, learning while doing, and sharing what you've learned?
The idea is simple. To build a shelter in a village, you must act as a part of a village. Imagine a world where when it was time to build a home, every neighbor contributed their time, so that within a month the home is constructed. And the end result is that for 29 years you have 4 more hours a day, instead of half of your input going to a fat lard at the bank. Instead of viewing your home as investment, you can view your time as THE investment. Your life, more leisurely, with time to create and imagine, can be more fruitful, as much as a garden that you diligently tend.
100 years ago you could buy a kit Sears home for $5000. Because so many people invested in the idea that a home should be acquired through a bank, we now have the task of imagining a home is $500,000, and that everyone should leave their families to get their own. We need permanent housing, a stable population, and an economy invested in the pursuit of knowledge. We can start improving society by gifting our children with permanent housing, in the same way we gift them with the wealth of our knowledge.
The American Dream is not for an exclusive club. The club is what they use to hit you over the head with, because you have to be asleep to believe in the dream. Don't buy into it, instead organize your village, and through cooperation build an inheritance for your grandchildren's grandchildren.
